Praise God!
On this day, in this time, look up and Praise God.
That may seem out of sync to some. You may think how can you be talking about praising when we are in the midst of a global storm. When we are surrounded by threats to our health and provision.
This is exactly the time to praise. When we Praise God we put ourselves in a position to receive His grace. We take our eyes off the storms and challenges in front of us and focus on the One who is exalted above all of these hurdles. We gaze upon the One who overcomes and carries us though these days.
Now is a time to Remember! Remember all that God has done in your life. Remember how He met your needs and poured into your life before this pandemic. Take time and remember the grace He has given to carry you and your family through this past year.
400 years ago a band of weary travelers set foot on the shores of Plymouth. They were beat down by the journey. They had dealt with sickness and uncertainty about their future. Yet when they set their foot upon the shore they Praised God for the grace that had brought them to this new beginning. They trusted Him that He had a purpose in bringing them out of the place they had known to an uncharted land. They were in a place of deep trust with God as they could only see the step before them.
We are all heirs of that trust.
On this day, let us Remember what God has done. Let us Give Thanks that He brought a group of ordinary people to a new land to ignite a new beginning for all of us.
As each of us gathers with loved ones today, whether in person or virtually, let us give thanks and praise to God for the freedom to give Him thanks and praise.
PRAISE God today Brothers. Wherever you are, look up and PRAISE God.
"Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise The Lord: “The Lord looked down from his sanctuary on high, from heaven He viewed the earth, to hear the groans of the prisoners and release those condemned to death.”
So the name of The Lord will be declared in Zion and his praise in Jerusalem
when the peoples and the kingdoms assemble to worship The Lord."
Psalm 102:18-22
