30 Days of Hope - Day 22

Brothers and Sisters,

This is a difficult season. It can be filled with moments of great anxiety. We may be puzzled, and in some cases resentful in contemplating “why” and “how much longer.” However, we have a promise that Jesus will bring us through this desert.

This passage helps us understand the relationship between our humility and God’s provision. I have been living this link these past few weeks. It certainly is a bit easier to assume a humble posture before God when all of my presumptions about life are no longer there to bolster my own sense of control. Times like these remind us that it’s easier to get filled up when you’re emptied out.

The beauty of this relationship is that all God needs to be able to work - I mean really work - in our lives begins when we make the move to acknowledge our frailty. That is the first step here. When we get real about who and what we are, then God, through the power of His Holy Spirit, will get moving in us.

When we give over our anxiety to Him we take another critical step. It is then that we will be lifted up according to His timing. Humble yourself. Bring all anxieties to Him and He will not only unburden you at the proper time, He will exalt you.

Yours Brothers in Christ,
