We see two promises in today’s verse: we will have trouble in this world, and Jesus has overcome the world.
Sometimes it is easy to forget the second promise when we get caught up in the first. Whether it’s health problems or family problems or work problems, we have probably all been in a place where things seem pretty bleak.
What do you do when this happens? Do you charge forward and try to pull yourself up by your own bootstraps? Or do you remember what Jeusus promised and realize that the important things are taken care of? Remember, He conquered the world!
Now that’s something we can delight in!
