Brothers,
Having the perspective that this passage provides is life giving.
In an easy to see example, you may think you play a pretty tight round of golf...until you play a round with the club champ. And if you happen to be the club champ, perhaps the comparison needed is to a top 10 tour player. The point is this - it’s good to take stock, real stock, of who you really are.
We need to remember, from a place of reverence, that our God’s mercy and righteousness is everlasting. By contrast, when we acknowledge that our temporary, fleeting life needs to be deeply connected with His eternal life through the one and only connector, Jesus, then we have life...and life to the full.
This is a passage of perspective. Who He is and who we are. What He is and what we are. We are in need of remembering what the truth really is.
Acknowledging through remembering is an act of praise!
