Brothers,
This scripture of David crying out to God is perfect in my mind to set the stage for our 40 day adventure along the Pathway of Praise.
These verses have it all in the sense that it clearly chronicles David crying out to God with a contrite heart; “I am poor and helpless”. He expressed complete humility.
There are also sections where David remembers the faithfulness of God and finds assurance in this fact; “You are kind and forgiving and have great love for those who call on you.”
Finally, his thankfulness for God’s faithfulness turns to praise; “I will praise you with all my heart, and I will honor your name forever”.
David has played all his cards and falls at the mercy of God, a vulnerable and empowering place to be.
Similar to that game you used to play as a kid. God is asking you to fall straight back and promises to catch you.
Will you trust him?
