Peace. It’s what each of us desires deep in the recesses of our hearts. In every corner of our life we desire peace. We don’t always think about it consciously. It’s not a regular active thought before us. But our spirit responds viscerally every time it comes upon moments of peace. But where do we find peace that is not fleeting? Where do we find peace that seeps into the very core of our being? How do we hold onto these respites from fear and worry and anxiety?
Draw near to God.
It is here in this space we discover the peace that lasts. It is here one finds shelter from the storms of this life that batter our souls. It is here we find rest in the shadow of God’s presence. Draw near to God for in His shelter you will find peace that lasts.
It is God’s overwhelming desire that you draw near to Him. It was the singular purpose for Christ’s mission here on earth.
God knows what you need. He knows the challenges this life can present. Never more than in days like these. Each one of us needs peace right now. It’s there for the taking. Today’s passage is a promise from Jesus that each of us needs to remember.
Are you tired? Are you weary from the battle? God knows the battering your faith has taken in this past year. He knows how you’ve been weighed down. He can see the darkness encroaching in your eyes. This is not His plan for you. This is not His desire for you. He has better.
Draw near to Him
