Brothers and Sisters,
In New England we have roots in Protestant Work Ethic. Work hard. Get ahead. Pull yourself up by your bootstraps. If you want success, build it for yourself. With that as our guide, we set about figuring out how to carve out our path in this life.
Our detailed plans and diligent work likely never factored in the exponential domino effect of a pandemic. I know mine didn’t. So here we find ourselves shaken and incredibly fortunate in the reinforcement this scripture provides. Because we trust in The Lord, we don’t need to rely solely on our own understanding of things.
Acknowledge God’s superiority in ALL things. He reigns in all circumstances. He has provided us with His peace that will surpass all of our understanding. Yes! We can have peace even in the midst of a time such as this! Then as we make our way through each moment of each day, our path becomes clearer, straighter and easier to navigate.
The overview of Chapter 3 of Proverbs is that “Wisdom Bestows Well-Being”. It’s probable that, no matter how you define it, well-being has been on your mind lately. Be encouraged that as you seek Him daily through time in The Word, prayer and reflection, that you will find all that you need in Him.
