Friends -
As Believers, practicing trust and fully giving ourselves over to The
Lord is one of the hardest challenges we will ever face. Most of us are not comfortable with that kind of vulnerability. In today's passage, God, through David, is directing us to trust Him... not some of the time, not just when we feel like it, but "at all times".
Trusting someone can be very difficult, for a variety of reasons. Often, the beginning of trust comes down to a decision. In this case, the act of trusting God must be an intentional thing... and if we are to be obedient to His direction, it's an action that must be diligently repeated, over and over, until it is firmly established behavior.
Remember, to hope in God we must develop trust in Him. If you look back to verses 5 - 7, you see that hope is directly tied to trust. Trust is a prerequisite to hope... and true hope is only found in God, through Jesus.
As you strive to obey and trust God in these troubling times, you'll
find yourself walking more and more confidently in the Hope He has for you each day.
